Shape coexistence and isospin symmetry in nuclei: Spectroscopy of the nucleus Kr

arXiv:1807.06728 · doi:10.1016/j.physletb.2018.07.067

Abstract

Excited states in the nucleus Kr have been populated using inelastic scattering of a radioactive Kr beam as well as one- and two-neutron removal reactions from Kr at intermediate beam energies. The level scheme of Kr was constructed from the observed -ray transitions and coincidences. Tentative spin and parity assignments were made based on comparison with the mirror nucleus Se. A second state and a candidate for the corresponding state suggest shape coexistence in Kr.
